..About The Band and the ones who helped them:

About The Band:

Biography:

“They’re cheesy. They sing nowadays; they should scream like they used to. They’re sellouts.”
They fight. They fuck. They destroy hotel rooms.
They’re misunderstood.
They are warm. They are loyal. They are brave. They are authentic.
They are disciplined.
As musicians, the members of Avenged Sevenfold are definite virtuosos in a time when being accomplished artists seemingly means so little. They are inquisitive and never fully satisfied with their own work. They seek to grow and improve every day, regardless of the obstacles or costs involved.
They are a rock band. They are rock stars. They are Avenged Sevenfold.
Avenged Sevenfold, the album, is a self-produced effort. While the band shared co-production credit on 2005’s million-selling City Of Evil with Mudrock, this new album is solely their responsibility — and they’re primed to accept it.
But attaining such stature didn’t arrive in an overnight jaunt. To the contrary, Avenged Sevenfold had been an integral part of the independent, underground rock scene years before breaking through on commercial radio. In fact, the Orange County, California-based act launched its career several years ago (they were barely out of high school) with the release of its debut in July 2001 of Sounding The Seventh Trumpet.
Miles of van touring ensued, performing in tightly packed clubs, and sweating shoulder-to-shoulder on both national and international levels. Despite the truly D.I.Y. affair (which still found the fledgling act putting on an eye-opening, elaborate stage show), Avenged Sevenfold never offered anything less than a full-throttle set. The band released its second independent full-length in August 2003, Waking The Fallen, a couple years later, greatly expanding on its metal-based foundation and giving us a not-so-subtle nudge that something exciting was in the imminent forecast.
Our suspicions were confirmed a couple years later, with Avenged Sevenfold’s breakthrough 2005 Warner Bros. debut, City Of Evil, featuring the wildly popular single “Bat Country.” That was the turning point for the fearless, genre-bending quintet that, after years of clocking in on the independent level, had finally advanced towards a milestone they had been seeking throughout their careers. A7X wrapped 18 months of relentless touring in October 2006 and immediately began writing Avenged Sevenfold. After the success of City Of Evil — where they proved they had truly captured the imagination of music fans of all shapes and sizes — they became the only band to headline Warped Tour and Ozzfest while simultaneously hitting Number One on MTV’s TRL. The natural question was whether the band would continue its creative odyssey or return to the formula that brought them such success on the last go-around. Thankfully, they continued their musical exploration without caving in to any outside influences.
For this self-titled release, the act returned to the garage at M. Shadows’ parents’ home where these high-school friends had penned every other song in their discography. The band sought to delve into genres and recording techniques they had discovered on the road. For instance, they wanted to incorporate the narrative lyrics and biting guitar tones they’d admired in country music, as well as the powerful bottom end of hip-hop they felt would only add to the power of their music and message.
“All those months on the bus we really weren’t finding new rock that was moving us,” says frontman M. Shadows. “Instead, we were listening to everything from Toby Keith to T.I., and finding elements we could incorporate into what we were doing to make our next record more interesting to us.”
In the studio, Avenged Sevenfold enlisted engineers Fred Archambault and Dave Schiffman (System Of A Down, Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers), and the team went to work.
The resulting sound and rhythm of Avenged Sevenfold is, in a word, eclectic. Yet it’s still trademark A7X. “‘Scream’ has a groove we really wanted to inject into this record,” says guitarist Synyster Gates. “And on ‘Lost,’ you can hear the influence melodic bands like NOFX have always had on our band.”
A7X composed the string sections, including the individual instrument orchestration, with the assistance of Marc Mann and Steve Bartek from Oingo Boingo (and who currently orchestrate for Danny Elfman). With the soaring strings in “Afterlife,” the haunting and theatrical performance of “A Little Piece Of Heaven,” or the gentle vocals of a child in “Unbound,” the band’s creative and varied approach is surprising. Percussionist Lenny Castro brought a dynamic to “Brompton Cocktail,” and noted pedal steel and banjo player Greg Leisz added a country flair to the song “Dear God.” Yet as Gates adds, “it’s the dueling guitars, Shadows’ voice and the Rev’s brutality that make every one of the songs sound like Avenged Sevenfold.”
Lyrically, Shadows was striving for something more personal on the new album. “I feel we all experience a certain inner conflict, the push and pull between how we think we should act, or want to act, and the temptations and human instincts that we often blame when we don’t end up being the person we want to be.”
In fact, the album’s first single, “Almost Easy,” focuses on more similar temptations. “Afterlife” addresses the notion of “memento mori,” or the need to remember that death may intervene before we have reconciled differences with friends or loved ones.
These guys worked their asses off making Avenged Sevenfold (enlisting studio legend Andy Wallace to mix the record), literally sweating every detail with the same (if not stronger) conviction they had years earlier in trying to prove themselves to the masses. But it’s best you understand what was really going on during the three months these five best friends were holed up making Avenged Sevenfold.
They were having the time of their lives. *This biography was found at A7X's website so IF you're planin on using it as well DON'T CLAIM IT AS ORIGINALLY YOURS!

Brian Haner:
About Him: (you can find the original Biography at carneyman.com or on Brians profile Here!, this is taken from carneyman.com with no modifications so if you read "I" it's Brian talkin:P)

Like most musicians who were children of the 60’s, Brian Haner received his first guitar after seeing The Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. He was only five years old, but still remembers it as one of the defining moments of his life. “I strummed an old broom and whined for two weeks until my dad finally broke down and bought me a guitar just so I’d shut up and my mom could get back to sweeping.”
He joined his first band when he was ten-years old. “It was called, The Plastic Mind. We played at a schoolmate’s birthday party, but we only knew one song, Windy, by The Association. We just played it over and over. Midway through the fourth time, the kids rebelled, unplugged us and started playing records. It taught me a valuable lesson that I still use to this day – When you’re doing a one hour show, always try to know more than one song.”
Haner played in several local bands until he was sixteen. That’s when he was asked to join Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. “Nobody remembers them, but everybody remembers their hit songs, Wooly Bully & Little Red Riding Hood. I spent the entire summer singing Wooly Bully behind Sam. It was a bit surreal because the last time I had played that song was on my mom’s broom.”
He spent his high school years working in nightclubs around the greater Los Angeles area. Just shy of his eighteenth birthday, he auditioned for Frank Zappa. “I auditioned for his touring band, but didn’t get the job. I assumed I would never hear from him again, but a few months later I got a call from his office asking if I was available for some session work. I recorded with him at The Record Plant in L.A. as well as at his home in the hills above North Hollywood. Needless to say, it was an unforgettable experience.”
After high school, Haner spent a year studying composition, music theory and orchestration at the prestigious Grove School of Music in Los Angeles.
During that same time he began a year long relationship with ex-Motown mogul, Norman Whitfield. “Norman penned tunes like Ain’t too Proud to Beg, Papa was a Rolling Stone and Car Wash,” Haner notes. “Recording for him and watching him produce was like getting a Masters from Julliard – except I didn’t get a diploma or the respect that comes with a post-graduate degree.”
At the age of 22, Haner signed a multi-record deal with Polydor Records. His first album, Don’t Stop Now, was released under the pseudonym, The Brian West Band, and was certified gold in Scandinavia. “We toured extensively in Europe and had some limited success there,” Haner says, “but by the time we got back to the states, the band blew up and we all went our separate ways. I think I may have slept with the bass player’s girlfriend. The 80’s are kind of a blur.”
Haner continued doing session work and working the club circuit in L.A. during the 90’s as well as dabbling in television and movie scoring, working on shows like TV 101 and Eerie, Indiana. “Music scores are like wallpaper,” Haner explains. “It’s there to add ambiance, but you’re not supposed to notice it. I had a lot of practice writing music that nobody noticed, so I was confident in my abilities. But wouldn’t you know it? They noticed it, so my scoring career was somewhat short-lived.”
He was signed to a publishing contract in Nashville as a writer in 2003 and released two indie CD’s entitled, My Old Guitar & Carney Man, respectively. “No matter how hard I tried to be serious, my songs always came out left of center. I was getting far more recognition as a comedy-song writer than I was as a serious one. A lot of my songs were in the first person so nobody wanted to record them. I suppose it makes sense,” Haner continues, “I mean, Kenny Chesney doesn’t want to sing about being a carney – even though I think he’d make a dandy one.”
Haner stepped on stage at The Improv Comedy Club in Los Angeles for the first time as a standup comedian in the summer of 2006. Within six months he was working the comedy circuit full-time, playing to packed houses and getting rave reviews.
Most recently, he has been dividing his time between Las Vegas, where he opens nightly for Bobby Slayton at The Hooter’s Casino, and Los Angeles, where he has been working on the Warner Bros. CD by his son’s VMA award winning band, Avenged Sevenfold. “Watching my son succeed at such a high level and being able to help him has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life – and I get free guitar strings.”

Cam Rackam:
About Him:
Cam Rackam was born in Huntington Beach, California. He grew up in the 90s punk rock/hardcore scene and has lived in almost every city in orange county. He attended high school with musicians like Throwdown, The Dirty Heads, HB Suround Sound, 18 Visions, Atryeu, Bleeding Through and Avenged Sevenfold. There he made his first album cover for M Shadows high school band successful failure. A troubled youth, Cam quietly refound his passion for the art. In 2001 he locked himself in his one-car garage for 6 months. "I had no electricity, so I worked by candle light. Just sealed myself off from the world, lite 100 candles, crank some metal, and paint the slide show to the apoclypse. And I wonder why the neighbors didnt like me." When he emerged he brought his demons with him, on canvas. Six years later he hasn't slowed down.
In 2003 his first commercial release for Avenged Sevenfold was the Heads Off painting. "It was a birthday gift for Matt. I didnt realize Id be seeing it at every record store accross the country." From there he went on to work on their City of Evil record, The Confessions Requeim, and their new A7X self titled release, including countless merchandise applications. Represented by Freeze Management(The Used, Head Automatica), Cam appeared on the All Excess DVD discussing the early roots of the band. He has his own merchandise company. He is the cheif designer at Darkride Skateboards. A contributer to the yellow ribbon fund. And still finds time to help small bands out.
C. Rackam can be found at his art shows, which are more like party events, buying his fans drinks and pressing the flesh. "I only show with Hamhawk. Cant get shit done without him. We share the same vision that art shows are places for real people to have fun and enjoy art."
"His art, an apocalyptic style that captures the ghosts of Hieronymus Bosch. Monsters and demons protrude the earth through his paint strokes. His fine detail displays a colorful hallucination of his dreams laid out on canvus. His loyalty to art is that of a classical and modern art that can create anything from a fullscale composition of oil painting to album covers to fonts."
Like the Zodiac killer hunts teenagers, Cam Rackam's scorched canvas is like a punch to the head. Screaming Bosch like demons, and apocalyptic visions of the afterlife, walking though his gallery is like being plunged into hell. Sixty's horror, medieval torture, and free masonry cake the walls like a crime scene. His content has captured the eyes of the music industry and most of his commissions stem from rock bands. "Rock Music Art is a genre I'm most comfortable with. Art for real people, music fans like myself." His art shows are here and gone in a matter of a few days, "Its like a big party celebrating artists, who celebrate death." Hand made merchandise, prints and even masterworks are given away at the shows. Blending sound into art, Cam creates the visual aids for bands like The Confession, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer, Unwritten Law, Last Revelation, The Leo Project and As I Lay Dying.

About Him:
Avenged Sevenfold's record producer.Wolfie the Fox is from Transylvania. He was a pet fox for Count Chocula, who treated Wolfie very bad; which is why his ear is kinda messed up.
After leaving Transylvania he decided to go to Vegas! He stopped at the Palms Casino and he ran into Avenged Sevenfold at the lobby. They showed Wolfie how to gamble and he won $1,000, which he then bought some bat wings and a pack of ciggerattes; which he's still smoking the first one cause no one will light it for him.
Wolfie was afraid that the Count would come and try to take him back to Transylvania, so he got Zacky and went outback to talk to him. Well they met a guy in the alley and he stuffed Wolfie; which is why he is now on the log. He now travels with Avenged Sevenfold and helps them with writing songs.
